Meet Dr. Elissia Franklin

Born and raised on the Southside of Chicago, I witnessed firsthand the disparities that exist in health literacy and knew that I wanted to contribute to finding a solution. This led me to pursue a career in science and community-engagment, where I have been able to combine my love of research and community engagement with my commitment to social justice.

I am committed to advancing environmental health and beauty justice by bridging research, advocacy, and community empowerment. Through my work, I strive to create meaningful change and make science accessible and actionable, helping families make informed choices to reduce harmful exposures and live healthier lives. I collaborate with brands, companies, and organizations that align with this mission—those dedicated to transparency, safety, and non-toxic solutions.
